Based around 'the Featherston incident', a true episode in which an assembly of unarmed Japanese prisoners at the Featherston POW Camp charged their NZ guards, who opened fire on them. Thirty-one Japanese were killed instantly; 17 died later of their wounds and a further 74 were wounded.Librarian's Miscellania
