A bilingual collection of stories from Niue, in both Niuean and English. With illustrations by Lange Taufelia, Tales of Niue Nukututaha features 12 tales from the island of Niue, giving traditional Polynesian storytelling a new twist. Zora explores the ancient art form of barkcloth (hiapo), now seldom made in Niue, tattoo, and the relationship with the ocean and island itself, often referred to as 'The Rock'. The tales are about the people of Niue and their love, courage, pride and curiousity. (Back cover)
