Leah Jackson is 16 years old and looks after her brother, sister, and mum. Then a gang-related school shooting changes her life, and her teenage brother is implicated. She manages to escape into the air vents and tries to work out a plan to help the other students survive, while wrestling with the choice as to whether to still protect her brother.
